Public Farm Tours
Weekly Farm Tour & Cheese Tasting

Our guided farm tour takes you through the gardens and barns of Illinois' first farmstead creamery, where you'll hear the story behind Prairie Fruits Farm: how it started, the regenerative practices that shape our land and herd, and what's coming next.

This land could have gone the way of most Illinois farmland and been planted in corn and soybeans. Instead, it's become a working, food-producing landscape, and our goats are a big part of why. You'll meet our herd of Nubian and LaMancha goats and see how their care connects directly to the cheese being made just steps away.

The tour ends back at the Farm Store with a tasting of a few of our current seasonal cheeses.

Tours run every Friday at 5:30 PM through October. $10 per person, meets at the Farm Store. Purchase tickets in advance or just drop in. For drop ins, please arrive at 5:15pm to get checked in and to purchase your tickets.

Stay for the evening. Caprae is open from 4 to 9 PM, so there's time for dinner after a Friday tour. Reserve a table, or order a cheese board and a glass of wine to enjoy on the patio. Before you leave, browse the Farm Store for cheese, honey, jam, flour, and meats from local producers.
