Let kids plant their own pot in this hands-on planting workshop.

What Kids Will Do

Children choose their own colorful, kid-friendly planter and select a plant to take home. They'll learn basic plant care—watering, light, and how to help their plant thrive—then pot their plant to bring home and care for.

This short, engaging workshop teaches responsibility and care for living things while giving kids something green to nurture.

Two sessions available to accommodate families:

• Session 1: 10:30 AM

• Session 2: 11:00 AM

What's Included

• Small colorful planter (nonbreakable plastic)

• Plant of child's choice

• Potting soil and materials

• Basic plant care instruction

• Hands-on potting experience

About Your Instructor

Kristyn, owner of Planted, brings her passion for plants and customer service to this kid-friendly workshop. A Champaign-Urbana native who returned to raise her own family here, Kristyn is a CPA who left public accounting to pursue her love of plants and community. She is also co-owner of Fern & Flora, a flower shop on UIUC's campus.
