The Writer's Table: Navigating Your Publishing Options
Your manuscript is done. Now what? With self-publishing, hybrid publishing, and traditional publishing all on the table, how do you choose the right path for your book?
Award-winning author and freelance editor Ekta R. Garg breaks down the three main publishing routes, helping you understand what each requires and which might be the best fit for your goals, timeline, and resources.
What You'll Learn
Ekta doesn't sugarcoat it: all publishing paths require serious commitment. But with the right information, you can make an informed choice about which route will serve your book—and your long-term writing career—best.
Workshop covers:
Self-publishing: Full creative control, full responsibility
Hybrid publishing: What it means, how it works, and red flags to watch for
Traditional publishing: The query process, agents, and what publishers actually do
Financial investment and expected returns for each path
Timeline expectations from manuscript to published book
Marketing responsibilities across all three models
Rights, contracts, and what you're really agreeing to
Essential questions to ask before committing to any publishing path
