making fences and mending fences

Farm News

The farm was spared the epic dust storm and severe thunderstorms that crossed our region earlier this week. Large sections of our area's interstate highways were closed for several hours as 60+ mph winds carried off fine particles of class A topsoil. In between the spring showers, the farm continues to tackle a variety of infrastructure projects. There's a new concrete alleyway with drainage between the barns and the milking parlor. Now, when it rains, the barns won't get flooded. A team of professional fence builders has descended on the farm, with the goal of putting in permanent fencing for rotational grazing. The old-fashioned method of t-posts and manual post pounder has given way to the mechanical skid-steer driven pounder. While the fence building is underway, the goat girls have access to a smaller section of the pasture. They seem too busy eating to be bothered by the strangers with the big equipment.

The garden planting and grounds beautification around the farm is underway as well, Please read all the happenings below and come visit us!
